about the project.
After entering my logo submissions in a local university run design competition, I was awarded first prize, beginning my working relationship with the local events catering business ‘RavingDone Right’.The brand surrounded the Lancaster night life scene, and promoted healthy ways of partying for young people, and safe raving as it were. Moreover, the brand aimed to bring the locals of Lancaster as well as the students at the university together through their brand. They later commissioned a number of merchandising and poster designs.
a2 posters
I was commissioned to create a number of Posters to decorate the walls of the music venues which RDR will occupy. The brief stated that the posters must distinguish the event as distinctly RDR and maintain a youthful party aesthetic. The posters were printed at A1 scale and addorned on the warehouses which the many events and gigs would be booked in. The posters were later sold online as merchandise for fans of the RDR brand, and were printed and shipped to the customers.
3D motion posters
I then later evolved these posters into 3D motion graphic posters for use in social media and digital content. These employ a combination of simple 3D Motion behaviours as well as 2D Kinetic Typography techniques to create hypnotic loops which could play alongside a gig or rave event.
